State-Funding for Kinky Demons

The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW (Film & Media Fund Northrine-Westphalia) is giving Rel.Pink 20.000€ to create a concept document for the upcoming game Kinky Demons. It’s a sex-positive action game, that’s located in a modern fantasy world, where demons have taken over. On Discord, I have described it as a direct sequel to BMO TV in the same universe, although mechanically it will be a very different game, specifically it is described as a 2D topdown shooter. It will still contain all the TF elements that you love. The above image does not depict those TFs. Instead, these are early concept arts for the enemies. The graphic was just used as a visualization to describe the game story to the judges, but during the concept phase they will be completely redone.

The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is the main games funding institution in Northrine-Westphalia (one of the sixteen German federal states) and gets its money directly from the government, as well as the big TV stations. I have had funding from them before for other companies/game projects, so I know what I’m dealing with.

The goal for this funding is not to fully develop a second game while also working on BMO TV, but to have one ready for development once BMO TV is close to completion. So you don’t need to worry about BMO TV not getting finished. I’m only going to spend a few hours every week on this project for now.

The money mostly goes to the artist for creating concept art, as well as the sex-positivity coaches for helping me define the different demon tribes, that function as metaphors for bdsm communities.

As a first step, I’m looking to create a list of real-world bdsm & lgbtq communities that would be interesting to include in the game. That does NOT mean a list of TF tropes, but rather actual kink & fetish communities, that would be interesting to have as characters. I have started a discussion on Discord in the #general channel in the Kinky Demons category. Please let me know, if you have an interesting community in mind, that would be great to put in the game.

It will still take a long time before I have new information about the project, but I’ll keep you updated.

Best,
Rel
